Hampden Park (Eastbourne) Bowling Club
Since receiving more updates from both the government and BE on the 4th July, the rules and regulations have altered the way we organise our club functions. Firstly is the introduction of the track and trace system, this will enable any case of covid-19 to be followed up.
As of this week all members, social members and visitors must be entered into the track and trace book. As we have no information on visitors we must ensure their name address postcode and telephone number is entered. Because of this only members and social members will be allowed in, with visitors having to gain permission. This will be clearly shown on our entrance gate.
The way the bowling is set up will remain the same, but due to demand it has now been decided to extend the amount of available rinks by increasing the days to Monday-Saturday. Through this a further three rinks will be available giving members more availability. The toilet facility entrance will be via the emergency exit, the procedure to use this will remain as at present.
Teas have been supplied since partially opening the club, we are making a few changes to this. Until the 1st August those bowling will still continue to get free teas. Social and any visitors will be asked to give a donation if tea is required. The tea will be ordered through Brian, this will now be by the table located just inside the door. A tray will be supplied to each rink or individual, when finished the tray will be returned by either the group or individuals. This will give Brian less walking around meaning less contact.
Since Saturday we have been able to open the Bar at normal bar prices. As we do not wish to have members going in and out of the club, it has been decided we will supply drinks by means of an order chit located on the table just inside the door, which when completed will be given to the barman, who will then make up the order. This will be put on a tray to be picked up by the person ordering, while at the same time paying for it. No drink will be given unless the bill is paid in full.
As things slowly return to normal we would like to introduce bowling to all our members both full and social, however that is in the future, showing we are thinking of all our members. I am proud of our club, not only the committee and the staff keeping the club functioning, but all our members for adhering to all the changes and regulations we have had to put in place now and in the future. A big thank you for supporting our wonderful club.
Your Chairman Ken
